High Commission of Sri Lanka in India

The Sinhala and Tamil New Year - Avurudu and Puthandu - was observed at the High Commission of Sri Lanka in New Delhi on 15 April 2026, bringing together staff in a shared spirit of renewal, gratitude, and togetherness.
 
Marked across Sri Lanka as a time of cultural unity, this season also resonates across India and the region - with festivals such as Baisakhi, Vishu, and Pohela Boishakh reflecting a common rhythm of harvest and new beginnings that binds our societies.
