Continuing his efforts to further expand engagement with the concurrently accredited Missions in New Delhi, Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner to India, Milinda Moragoda had an interactive session with the New Delhi based Trade Commissioners/ Commercial Diplomats concurrently accredited to Sri Lanka today (20) at the High Commission premises. This was the second interactive meeting with the Trade Commissioners/Commercial Diplomats from the countries concurrently accredited to Sri Lanka who did not participate in the first interactive session.
The interactive session was attended by Trade Commissioners/ Commercial Diplomats from Belarus, Cyprus, Ethiopia, Jordan, Kenya, Ireland, Peru and Turkey The purpose of the meeting was to discuss ways to enhance trade and economic relations between Sri Lanka and these countries.

One of the largest and most popular digital media platforms in India, ‘Mojo Story’, interviewed Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner to India Milinda Moragoda today (01). Team leader of the platform, award-winning television journalist Barkha Dutt conducted the interview.
Mojo Story is a news media platform, which has a large audience of over 630,000 subscribers.
Barkha Dutt is a senior journalist, anchor, and columnist with more than two decades of reporting experience. She is India’s only Emmy-nominated journalist who has won multiple national and international awards, including the Padma Shri, which is India’s fourth-highest civilian honour.

Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner to India, Milinda Moragoda recently undertook a visit to the Headquarters of the Akshaya Patra Foundation in Bengaluru, Karnataka to study their renowned mid-day meal programme for school children.
Established in 2000 as a non-profit trust of International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), Akshaya Patra is one of the world’s largest not-for-profit run school feeding programmes, serving wholesome food every school day to over 2.3 million children from 22,367 schools across 15 states and 2 union territories of India.

In keeping with its policy of promoting dialogue with all major religions in India, the High Commission of Sri Lanka in New Delhi today (23) presented a Sinhala translation of the Holy Quran to the historical Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia Dargah of Delhi for permanent display.
Situated in the Nizamuddin West area of Delhi, Nizamuddin Dargah is the mausoleum of the Sufi saint Khwaja Nizamuddin Auliya (1238–1325 CE). The Dargah is visited by thousands of pilgrims every day. The site is also known for its evening qawwali devotional music sessions. The descendants of Nizamuddin Auliya look after the whole management of Dargah.

Continuing his dialogue with Heads of Mission of Islamic countries in New Delhi who are concurrently accredited to Sri Lanka, High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to India Milinda Moragoda presented a copy of the Sinhala translation of the Holy Quran to the Ambassador of Tunisia to India Hayet Talbi Bilel today (23).
The presentation was made this morning at the Tunisian Embassy in New Delhi. |
